“Dear friends, this is now my second letter to you. I have written both of them as reminders to stimulate you to wholesome thinking. I want you to recall the words spoken in the past by the holy prophets and the command given by our Lord and Savior through your apostles.
Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, ‘Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.’ But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water. By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgement and destruction of the ungodly.
But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like thousand years, and a thousand years is like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.
So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and peace with him. Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him. He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do other Scriptures, to their own destruction.
Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure position. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.” (2 Peter 3: 1-18)
When reading Scripture, it completely boggles the mind to see the stances the modern Church takes on events unfolding around our world. We are told over and over that this heaven and earth will pass away and be destroyed and the descriptions given mimic the Climate Change we are experiencing today. Yet Christians still deny that Climate Change is real. How can we believe what the Holy Word states and then deny its relevance when it appears before our eyes? This is so hard to understand, and only complete lunacy could allow believers to become so jaded to deny what is happening around our world.
Every day we are witnessing climatic event around the globe. Stories of floods, fires, tornadoes, earthquakes, hurricanes are so prevalent that modern man is becoming desensitized until their impact directly influences the individual. Revolts occur showing the tenacity against those pointing out what is unfolding around the world and this belief is getting so chaotic that violence has been breaking out. Even using propaganda is demonizing the children who have the courage to speak up about what is happening. Again, how can Christian’s deny the changes in our climate when the Bible specifically states these events will occur?
“Listen to me, my people; hear me, my nation: Instruction will go out from me; my justice will become a light to the nations. My righteousness draws near speedily, my salvation is on the way, and my arm will bring justice to the nations.
The islands will look to me and wait in hope for my arm. Lift up your eyes to the heavens, look at the earth beneath; the heavens will vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment and its inhabitants die like flies. But my salvation will last forever, my righteousness will never fail.” (Isaiah 51: 4-6)
The world is pleading just like the prophet Isaiah during his time for the nations to listen to his cry. Why are Christians so blind? Why have they turned a blind eye to what is going on? The only conclusion that can be made is their arrogant stance of escapism and the fact they believe they will not be present during any of the Tribulation Period. How else could they completely deny the fact that the world’s climate is changing?
“There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. People will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. At that time, they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.” (Luke 21: 25-28)
The most disturbing revelation is that most Christians who are proclaiming the coming of our Savior is near, are also the ones who are standing firmly against climate change, stating it’s a political ploy. The coming of the Messiah and the destruction of this world coincide and there is not distinction between them. Understanding this fact, we have to then consider the message of those preaching this, and consider they have no idea what they are stating. How can you deny that Climate Change will happen when Scripture clearly states that this is a definite? Why would you mislead so many to believe that your teaching is correct when you are specifically preaching against Scripture?
“The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and the sun was allowed to scorch people with fire. They were seared by the intense heat and they cursed the name of God, who had control over these plagues, but they refused to repent and glorify him.” (Revelation 16: 8-9)
“The first angel sounded his trumpet, and there came hail and fire mixed with blood, and it was hurled down on the earth. A third of the earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up and all the green grass was burned up.
The second angel sounded his trumpet, and something like a huge mountain, all ablaze, was thrown into the sea. A third of the sea turned into blood, a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.
The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water – the name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter.” (Revelation 8: 7-11)
Regardless if the natural disaster is man-made, comes from falling stars, or are produced from the earth cleansing itself, the one thing that we cannot deny is that Scripture tells us this will happen. If anyone is to state that they believe in the Second Coming of the Messiah, but they deny that the climate of the world will change, they need to continue studying as they have missed a very important detail within Scripture. Things are going to change, regardless of who we want to blame!
“Then I saw ‘a new heaven and a new earth,’ for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” (Revelation 21: 1-4)
