You May Not Like It, But the Pre-Tribulation Rapture Is A False Teaching and It’s Deceiving the Church!

“Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.

For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.

For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them – yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. Whether, then, it is I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed.

But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised. For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied.

But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the Firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. But each in turn: Christ, the Firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him. Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom of God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death. For he ‘has put everything under his feet.’ Now when it says that ‘everything’ has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ. When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all.

Now if there is no resurrection, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why are people baptized for them? And as for us, why do we endanger ourselves every hour? I face death every day – yes, just as surely as I boast about you in Christ Jesus our Lord. If I fought wild beast in Ephesus with no more than human hopes, what have I gained? If the dead are not raised, ‘Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.’

Do not be misled: ‘Bad company corrupts good character.’ Come back to your senses as you ought and stop sinning; for these are some who are ignorant of God – I say this to your shame.

But someone will ask, ‘How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come?’ How foolish! What you sow does not come to life unless it dies. When you sow, you do not plant the body that will be, but just a seed, perhaps of wheat or of something else. But God gives it a body as he has determined, and to each kind of seed he gives its own body. Not all flesh is the same: People have one kind of flesh, animals have another, birds another and fish another. There are also heavenly bodies and there are earthly bodies; but the splendor of the heavenly bodies is one kind, and the splendor of the earthly bodies is another. The sun has one kind of splendor, the moon another and the stars another; and star differs from star in splendor.

So, will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.

For there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. So, it is written: ‘The first man Adam became a living being’; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit. The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual. The first man was of the dust of the earth; the second man is of heaven. As was the earthly man, so are those who are of the earth; and as is the heavenly man, so also are those who are of heaven. And just as we have borne the image of the earthly man, so shall we bear the image of the heavenly man.

I declare to you, brothers and sisters, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed – in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: ‘Death has been swallowed up in victory.” ‘Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Therefore, dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” (1 Corinthians 15: 1-58)

The teaching of the Pre-Tribulation Rapture has taken the world by storm. Our society has been deeply indoctrinated, where every believer or non-believer has become familiar with its teaching. People all over the world are waiting for the mass disappearance of the Christian Church that will initiate the Apocalypse.

This teaching has become so wide spread that anyone who presented a different interpretation is regarded as a heretic and discarded as a false teacher. This feeling toward the opposition interpretation is so severe that the majority of the Christian Church will not even entertain the notion that the Pre-Tribulation Rapture is not true.

We are told that those who are chosen will be lifted from this earth and transported to heaven to partake in the wedding ceremony between Jesus and his Bride, the Church. This teaching is what provides hope for many who live within this godless and unforgiving world. It is no mystery to understand that challenging this belief would be removing the heart and soul from many who have nothing else within this world to hope for. That is never the intention when interpreting Scripture. The intention is also to not sugar coat what Scripture truly states. All who educate the masses about biblical interpretation are tasked with the duty to remain loyal to what Scripture states without allowing for false doctrine to be implemented within its message.

With this being said, we must understand that within the direct passage spoken about within 1 Corinthians we are told a specific event that will occur that triggers the dead to be risen. This event must happen prior otherwise the interpretation would be inaccurate, as we are instructed to not add messages to Scripture but to help with its interpretation. This event is the sounding of the last trumpet. Many will reference this event to the Jewish Feast of Trumpets celebration and this would be by design. The Feast of Trumpets is a direct enactment of what shall occur during the sounding of the final trumpet.

“And the Lord said to Moses, ‘Say to the Israelites: ‘On the first day of the seventh month you are to have a day of sabbath rest, a sacred assembly commemorated with trumpet blasts. Do no regular work, but present a food offering to the Lord.’

The Lord said to Moses, ‘The tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement. Hold a sacred assembly and deny yourselves, and present a food offering to the Lord. Do not do any work on that day, because it is the Day of Atonement when atonement is made for you before the Lord your God. Those who do not deny themselves on that day must be cut off from their people. I will destroy from among their people anyone who does any work on that day. You shall do no work at all. This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come, wherever you live. It is a day of sabbath rest for you, and you must deny yourselves. From the evening of the ninth day of the month until the following evening you are to observe your sabbath.

The Lord said to Moses, ‘Say to the Israelites: ‘On the fifteenth day of the seventh month the Lord’s Festival of Tabernacles begins, and it lasts for seven days. The first is a sacred assembly; do no regular work. For seven days present food offerings to the Lord, and on the eighth day hold a sacred assembly and present a food offering to the Lord. It is the closing special assembly do no regular work.

‘These are the Lord’s appointed festivals, which you are to proclaim as sacred assemblies for bringing food offering to the Lord – the burnt offerings and grain offerings, sacrifices and drink offerings required for each day. These offerings are in addition to those for the Lord’s sabbath and in addition to your gifts and whatever you have vowed and all the freewill offerings you give to the Lord.’” (Leviticus 23: 23-38)

The modern world has become accustom to calling the beginning of the Feast of Trumpets, Rosh Hashanah, which also indicates the beginning of the Jewish New Year. This celebration begins a ten-day period leading up to the holiest day on the Jewish calendar, Yom Kippur, or the day of Atonement. These ten days are called the Days of Awe by modern Judaism and are concluded with the sounding of the Great Shofar at the end of Yom Kippur.

According to Jewish rabbinic teachings, when the Feast of Trumpets begins on Rosh Hashanah, the destiny of the righteous and the wicked are sealed. The righteous have their names written in the Book of Life while the wicked have theirs written in the Book of Death, but most people will not be written in either. Those who do not have their names written in either book have ten days (Days of Awe) to repent to the Lord and ask for forgiveness prior to their fate being sealed. When the ten days have passed, everyone shall have their name written in either book on the most holy Jewish day, the Day of Atonement. This celebration is followed by the Feast of Tabernacles, five days later. This festival is a sacred assembly designed to symbolize the Millennial reign of the Messiah.

The Jews were instructed to keep these appointed days holy as their prophetic meaning would become reality just like Jesus fulfilled prophecy during the other prophetic Jewish Holidays (Passover, Feast of Unleavened Bread, and Feast of Firstfruits). These are appointed times and according to Scripture they will be fulfilled on these specific days, exactly as they are depicted.

This would mean that the unfolding of the judgment of God would happen in rapid succession and cumulate within 23 days (Days of Awe lasts 10 days, plus 5 days until Feast of Tabernacles which lasts 7 days, 10+5+7=23)

This does not make much sense to modern Christians as we are told to watch for Daniel’s 70^th week as an indication of how long the Jewish age shall last. Considering 69 weeks have been completed, Christians are watching for the final week to appear, creating the 7-year tribulation period:

“And whiles I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the Lord my God for the holy mountain of my God; Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation.

And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding. At the beginning of thy supplications the commandments came forth, and I am come to shew thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore, understand the matter, and consider the vision.

Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandments to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall even in troublous times.

And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.” (Daniel 9: 20-27)

Modern Christians are told that the beginning of Daniel’s 70^th week will commensurate with the Rapture event, thus creating the Pre-Tribulation Rapture. This Rapture stance is presented along with the following verses:

“But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” (1 Thessalonians 4: 13-18)

Again, we are told that this event would happen at the sounding of the Trumpet of God, or the Last Trump. This references back to the Feast of Trumpets and more specifically to Yom Kippur, the most holy day on the Jewish calendar.

There is no indication that this event would happen at the beginning of Danial’s 70^th week or that this event would happen at the beginning of the Tribulation Period. Instead we are pointed toward the end of the Feast of Trumpets when the “books are sealed”. The most overlooked misconception is that the sounding of the trumpet is not for those who are alive, but for those who are already dead. Only after the dead have risen are the living transformed, not the other way around. The living are to be transformed at a later time, not specified within this passage. We are specifically told this by a verse within Revelation that explains the “first resurrection”:

“And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ and shall reign with him a thousand years.

And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, and shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them.

And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire, this is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” (Revelation 20: 1-15)

When trying to stick to the Pre-Tribulation narrative, none of this makes any sense. The Church is specifically told that the dead shall rise first and then the living will be caught up but within the Book of Revelation, we are told that the first resurrection includes only those who were beheaded during the Great Tribulation. This goes against the direct teaching within the Church today that we shall be taken up to heaven to be the Bride of Christ while the Great Tribulation is going on. Even more, is within this passage it illustrates that heaven and earth will fled way and there will be no place left for the inhabitants of this world. This would be more consistent with individuals being transformed in a twinkling of an eye and being caught up in heaven with the dead, as all would be subject to this transfer, at the same time to partake in judgment. This cannot be true as either the Book of Revelation must be wrong, or the Pre-Tribulation Rapture is just a false theory. Maybe within Revelation we can have some indication what is going on with the Bride of Christ:

“And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honor, and power, unto the Lord our God: For true and righteous are his judgements: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.

And again, they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever. And the four and twenty elders and four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia.

And a voice came out of the throne, saying, praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great. And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.

Let us be glad and rejoice and give honor to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

And he saith unto me, Write, blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, these are the true sayings of God.

And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he saith unto me, see thou do it not: I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

And I saw heaven opened and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King of Kings, and Lord of Lord.

And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.

And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone.

And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.” (Revelation 19: 1-21)

Once again, the Book of Revelation does not support the Pre-Tribulation Rapture Teaching. We are specifically told that the bride is granted that she should be dressed in fine linens but in no way are we told that the bride is in heaven awaiting the wedding or that the wedding festival has occurred. Instead this passage is more consistent with the Feast of Trumpets teaching that the names of those worthy of eternal life shall be written in the Book of Life prior to the ten days of trial. This does not fit with what the Church is being taught as modern teachers are teaching that the Church is no present during the Tribulation, as there is no indication they are present within the book of Revelation.

This again is hard to justify as many overlook the writings to the seven churches within the Book of Revelation as just letters written to ancient churches. This would not be consistent with the prophetic language and message within Revelation and should be discounted as the only message present within the letters. Another interpretation sheds more light into the explanation of the importance of the church letters. This interpretation depicts that the letters are the evolution of the church age up until the time of judgment. This would be more consistent when reviewing the rewards given to each church as they continue to increase in worth. Plus, there may be a secret hidden within the ten days of the Days of Awe and the Church of Smyrna:

“To the angel of the church in Smyrna write: These are the words of him who is the First and the Last, who died and came to life again. I know your afflictions and your poverty – yet you are rich! I know about the slander of those who say they are Jews and are not but are a synagogue of Satan. Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor’s crown.

Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The one who is victorious will not be hurt at all by the second death.” (Revelation 2: 8-11)

Within this passage we are giving the illustration of the ten days of trial and those that die shall not be subject to the second death. This is the exact language used to illustrate the Feast of Trumpets and those who are beheaded during the Great Tribulation. This letter is addressed to the “Tribulation Saints” who will ultimately rule with Jesus during His millennial reign!

This trial can also be seen in the language used within Scripture depicting when the Beasts overcome the saints:

“And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.

And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

If any man have an ear, let him hear. He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and faith of the saints.” (Revelation 13: 6-10)

Unfortunately, those who believe in the Pre-Tribulation Rapture will stay true to their message stating that the church has been removed and those left behind are the ones who must endure the wrath of God. They will insist that the wedding is occurring in heaven during the Great Tribulation and that the bride will return with Jesus at the battle of Armageddon to destroy Satan once and for all. Again, when looking at what Scripture actually says, we understand that this interpretation is only a fantasy and not founded in the Holy Word:

“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacles of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

And God shall wife away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, write: for these words are true and faithful.

And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. But the fearful and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb’s wife.

And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;

And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates. And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

And he that talked with me, had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof. And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it were equal.

And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel. And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass. And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald; the fifth, sardonyx, the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite, the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz, the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.

The twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the streets of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.

And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honor into it. And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.

And they shall bring glory and honor of the nations into it. And there shall in no wise enter into it anything that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.” (Revelation 21: 1-27)

We are specifically told that we will be described the Bride of Christ and then Scripture goes into great detail describing the New Jerusalem. This chapter also states that we will worship God and we will be his sons. This does not depict the illustration being taught within the Christian Church today. The theories being told to the masses are nothing like what the Holy Word of God tells us. This is very dangerous for those who are unwilling to study Scripture for themselves. That is why we are told that the Tribulation Church will be told a grand deception, and many would turn away from the faith. It’s hard to understand that believers will need to die for their faith instead of being whisked off to heaven in a twinkling of an eye!

“Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, that ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, expect there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.

Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good home through grace, comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.” (2 Thessalonians 2: 1-17)
