“The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.
Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.” (Revelation 1: 1-3)
We are living in a time where many are saying that the prophetic word is not important and that understanding Biblical prophecy is stuff of fairy-tales. We are being told that studying Scripture in a way that can depict the future is something that only those who are delusional can do. We are told this as the understanding is not present with everyone as there will be many that are unable to see or are willing to study to find the truth.
The blessing that is given at the beginning of the book of Revelation is set there for a reason. The reason is to not enrich those that study the words within the book or to enlighten the individual beyond the understanding of man. The blessing is given so that we may understand the end from the beginning and so that we may know the power of God.
To explain this comment we must know that the fight upon us is not something that we can defeat within the earthly realm. This battle is not something that we can even understand as our consciousness is lacking to see the entire picture. That is why faith is so important. We must be able to accomplish the good works even without the understanding as to why we do such actions.
Scripture tells us that the war is not between flesh and blood but between powers that are unseen and beyond our comprehension:
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” (Ephesians 6: 10-13)
The powers that we fight against are not the powers of this world. That is why Scriptures tells us over and over again that our lives in this realm are not important. We are instructed that what we do with our lives is the true meaning of life. We are told to stand with the understanding of the power of God and that He is truly capable of everything!
Once we understand that He is able to do anything, without limitation, than we have the ability to see our destiny through. When we study the prophetic word, we are given the understanding of what will come. With this understanding, we know what we need to do during the time of our trial. We must stand strong, knowing that God has full control of the outcome and that our lives are not important as our legacy lives on. “He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.” (Matthew 10: 39)
We are only the messengers and not the outcome. We are here to show the world that His word is true and that the final outcome is His. Only after understanding this do we know that our insignificant existence is to glorify Him and nothing else.
When we study Biblical prophecy, we gain an understanding of Him and His actions. We learn why He makes the world go through tribulation and why we as individuals continue with our trials. We go through our struggle so that we may bring about His outcome. That is the only reason. Knowing this shall bring us strength during our time of trial.
If any of us have true belief in our savior, we know that our trial is just beginning. We shall be tried by fire to become refined to bring glory to Him. We shall be a shining light during a time that the world has never witnessed before and we shall face a darkness that is not of this world. The darkness is greater than any of us can ever imagine as our understanding is limited.
Even though our understanding is limited, our power is not. We shall be granted the power to overcome as our Lord and Savior has already overcome this world. We shall be given power and shall do works that are greater than the works our Savior did during His time on this world. We are to be the ones that bring about the greatest revival that the world has ever seen. This has all been spoken to us and promised to us by our God! There is nothing that can be done to change it!
Once we truly know this and I mean deep down in our soul understanding, then we shall be given power that the prophets of old longed for. Our God promised that His spirit would be poured out upon His people and our Savior promised that we would do works that are greater than those He did during His time on this earth. This is not a fairy-tale. This is Bible Prophecy!
If we want to inherit our promise from our Lord, than we must fulfill our obligation to Him. We must study and prepare the only way that we were ever instructed to do so. We must prepare spiritually. We must be ready for the time when we will be the ones that are the warriors we promised our God that we would be!
“Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto the Father.
And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it.” (John 14: 10-14)
