Economic War and the Opening of the Third Seal of Revelation

“I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, ‘Come!’ I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest.

When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, ‘Come!’ Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make people kill each other. To him was given a large sword.

When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, ‘Come!’ I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. Then I heard what sounded like a voice among four living creatures, saying, ‘Two pounds of wheat for a day’s wage, and six pounds of barley for a day’s wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!’

When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, ‘Come!’ I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.” (Revelation 6: 1-8)

The Four Horseman of the Apocalypse are famous for their visions of destruction present during the End of the Age.  We, as a society, are no strangers to their depiction of disaster upon the world and the horrors that those who are living will have to endure. Every believer wishes that they will be seen worthy to not partake of God’s wrath, but the visions presented within the Four Horsemen are not from God’s wrath. They are precursors to what will happen to those who do not repent for their transgressions against the All Mighty.

Our modern world is completely upside down and people are looking everywhere for answers to what is happening.  Many are looking to the stars, to global events, to wars and rumors of wars and are seeing no correlations to why these events are all happening now.  Those who do not have the eyes to see or the ears to hear lack the understanding to what is happening to our world.

This is exactly what Scripture told us would happen during the last days.  We are told that we must watch for Jesus’s return or we shall be consumed by the events unfolding around the world.  This is exactly what is happening right now! Everywhere we look, it appears that mankind has lost its mind! We have police brutality against the public, disputed elections all around the world, assassination attempts by drone, and global currency and economic wars that are involving every country on the map. These events are moving so rapidly that the daily news is becoming overwhelming to watch and we are all witnessing sights we never imagined.

When reading about the riding of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, we can see these events unfolding before our eyes. Many will dispute that the Rapture must happen prior to the riding of the First Horseman or that the Antichrist must be on the world scene when the first seal opens. These events are open for interpretation and to be honest, none of us know if they are correct or not. The fact of the matter is that we must look at the characteristics present within the riders to understand the events that will unfold once they have begun.

When we evaluate the characteristics, we start to see current events that are by-products of the openings of these seals.  We have had numerous world leaders solidify power and the rise of nationalism is all over the news (1^st seal) and we have seen peace be taken from the earth as senseless violence is happening at a staggering rate (2^nd seal).

These events could be happening, even if the first riders have not already started, but the 3^rd seal is a little different.  Within this seal we see a global economic crisis that will impact food supplies around the world.  When Scripture depicts only enough food to eat for a day’s wages, we know that food prices will skyrocket and the price of labor will decrease drastically. We see these events happening right now all around the world and within the United States of America.

The news broadcasts depict a roaring American economy with low unemployment and high corporate profits.  We are witnessing the cost of goods increasing but average wages are staying stagnate. Basic economics would conclude that wage growth is needed to sustain the rise in cost of goods or the cost of those goods will have to decline so that the consumer can purchase them.  Without wage growth, the roaring US economy will not be sustainable.

Then throw in the mix the rise of the economic and currency wars that are happening globally.  President Trump recently stated that any country that does business with Iran will not be able to do business with the United States. When this happened the first three entities to object were the EU, China, and Turkey.

The American public is naïve to believe that the American way of life will continue when the exchange of goods and services comes to a global halt. The entire world depends on moving supplies and products to purchasing countries and without this exchange, the world economy comes to a standstill.  But what happens when the entire world continues trading, without the United States of America?

The United States does not have the ability to produce the products needed to maintain our way of life.  Plus, if the exchange of goods is stopped, the existing inventory pricing will increase, causing the price of goods to increase.  This will further erode the American way of life and most importantly, corporate profits as their unit sales will drop.

We all understand that when corporate profits decline, their largest expense is personnel. In other words, when things get tough, companies lay people off.  What do you think will happen when the American public can no longer purchase goods and services due to pricing? This will decrease the amount of sales and cause companies to create cost saving measures……

Combine this with the rise of the BRICS banking system and the separation that will ensue between the IMF and the Fed, we can see the global banking system is going to change drastically. The power is moving from the west to the east and anyone who believes that they will be able to maintain global economic power, without the backing of China, don’t understand the power the consumer economy has given the largest producer of goods in the world.

The final catalyst that will impact global food prices will be associated to the global climate changes that are happening all around the world.  We are witnessing record breaking fires in the western United States, massive drought in Australia and the Middle East, and excessive heat throughout Europe.  These are all going to impact food production in a drastic way. When humans are unable to produce enough food to sustain our population, the first impact we will see is in the global pricing of food, hence the Third Horseman of the Apocalypse.

We must not be naïve to what is happening to our world. Our way of life is changing at a mind-numbing pace. The ways we lived before are gone and a new way is being revealed.  We can no longer sustain ourselves like our forefathers did.  We can no longer do as we please.  We will be that generation that will witness God in all his glory and we will see, with our own eyes, the final cost of mankind’s sins!
