Ever sense Donald Trump appeared on the campaign trail we have heard his message about building a wall on the southern border of the United States. This wall would be placed between Mexico and the United States and we are told the reason for building this wall is to keep the illegal immigrants out of US.
At first, building this massive wall can be seen as a complete waste of money and a horrible idea, as this problem could be solved in a completely different way. This has led to many a political debate but by looking at the problem differently, it can be seen that this may be the only solution to a massive problem building below our southern border.
The only way to completely understand what is going on in South and Central America is to look at what has already happened in Syria and Europe. With the rise of Bashar al-Assad in Syria and the ensuing civil war, the civilians of Syria had no choice but to flee their homes and enter Europe. They were seeking refuge and their misery allowed many countries in the EU to open their arms to help these individuals. The only problem is Europe did not have the resources to help the amount of people that fled from the Middle East. This mass exodus has led to slum towns and violence. This violence was not one sided as immigrants were both the perpetrator and the victims of many violent attacks. If any example is needed, just look at the countries of France and Hungary. In France, numerous terrorist attacks lead to the country being placed under Martial Law for 2 years. In Hungary, the government has called the refugees invaders and hate speech against believers of Islam is getting the attention of the U.N.
What is happening on our southern border is by design, just like the civil war and mass exodus into Europe was planned. This is all part of an economic war that is being played out around the world. We have seen how the world is controlled by oil prices and when the price of oil gets too high; it enriches oil rich nations and burdens the world’s citizens. When oil was at its peak, countries like Venezuela prospered and the people were living a higher standard of life. This also caused the American public to suffer and the cost of living to increase drastically, almost bringing the United States economy to its knees. When oil prices dropped, countries like Venezuela suffered where the United States stock market is now at record highs.
Hidden within this struggle lies the actual economic war. The price of oil controls which country rises and which nation falls. Since gaining control of the oil market, the United States has continued to place economic sanctions against any country that would benefit from high oil prices (Venezuela, Russia, and Iran). This economic war has caused Venezuela to become a country of great misery with little resources for its populous.
World leaders understand that this control of the oil market would lead to a massive shift in South and Central America. By destabilizing Venezuela, you cause a mass exodus out of these nations and into neighboring countries like Brazil and Colombia. Both of these countries have seen massive migration and the exportation of the Venezuelan hardship.
Colombia is in the midst of a highly contested election and the influx of over 800,000 Venezuelans has led to worries that the country will suffer just like its neighbor. President Trump’s March 2018 trip to Colombia helped ensure their cooperation with economic assistance and border security. Since this meeting, the crisis within the Americas has only worsened.
Brazil is in the midst of a massive economic crisis that is now being amplified with a strike that is causing its entire economy to come to a stand-still. The price of fuel has skyrocketed and truckers are unable to continue transporting goods across the country, so they are striking. This strike has led to massive confusion and disruption in Brazil and there are no signs of the crisis going away.
These are not the only two counties within Central and South America that are facing crisis. It appears that almost every country has some kind of economic and social unrest. This unrest is leading to many civilians to see their lives become disrupted and will soon lead to a mass exodus, just like what happened in Syria and Venezuela. Here is a list of some of the issues that other countries in the Americas are facing:
Nicaragua: Nicaragua has been facing massive protest and uprisings since the government tried to reform the countries Social Security System. These protests have led to many deaths and the violence is increasing.
Honduras: Honduras is going through its worse political crisis in a decade as there are allegations that President Juan Orlando Hernández rigged the recent election. This has caused massive protest and violent clashes against civilians, leaving many dead. This has only been amplified by President Trump’s threats of regime change if the government does not cooperate with the United States.
Costa Rica: Costa Rica is seeing a substantial increase in violent deaths across the country. This violence is spreading and causing many to fear for their lives. There have been 247 violent deaths so far in 2018.
Guatemala: Violence in Guatemala has been escalating and the murder rate is off the charts. In January 2018 alone, there were 469 murders across the country. Things are only going to get harder as the Arab league has severed ties with Guatemala over their intention to build their embassy in Jerusalem. Lack of oil will lead to issues just like Brazil.
Panama: Ex-President Ricardo Martinelli is awaiting extradition back to Panama to face trial on accusations of spying charges. He has recently blamed the US on going back on their word to protect him from these charges. In the mean-time, Panama has recently signed a free trade agreement with China. Controlling the Panama Canal is a very important asset and this alone may lead to war.
Mexico: Enough press has been made about the violence in Mexico and how the drug cartels are waging war against the civilian population. This is just the gathering point for those who are trying to flee into the United States. This violence will get worse until the flood gates are broken.
These are just the countries that the massive exodus will have to come thru for the refugees to get to the southern border of the United States. Every country is going through major issues and the lives of every individual are being impacted. It is just a matter of time before these individuals have lost all hope. When this hope is lost, the exodus into the United States will over whelm our southern border.
